United Youth Association (UYA) is a youth-focused initiative operating through the Islamic Centre (Markaz) and the We Care Unit. We create safe spaces, mentorship, and leadership opportunities that help young people build confidence, identity, faith, and mental resilience, so they thrive at home, at school, and in the community.

Who We Are

United Youth Association (UYA) exists to support youth in Fort McMurray and the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo through mentorship, community engagement, leadership development, and prevention-focused wellness programming. We understand that youth face real pressures, social media, anxiety, identity confusion, peer pressure, cultural gaps, academic stress, and isolation. Instead of waiting for crisis, we invest early in confidence, connection, and purpose.
