United Youth Association (UYA) is a youth-focused initiative operating through the Islamic Centre (Markaz) and the We Care Unit. We create safe spaces, mentorship, and leadership opportunities that help young people build confidence, identity, faith, and mental resilience, so they thrive at home, at school, and in the community.
Join UYATo empower youth through mentorship, leadership training, faith-based identity development, and prevention-focused mental wellness programming, so young people grow into confident leaders who contribute positively to their families and the wider community.
A community where youth feel they belong, know their value, and are equipped with the character, resilience, and skills to succeed, without losing their identity or purpose.
United Youth Association (UYA) exists to support youth in Fort McMurray and the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo through mentorship, community engagement, leadership development, and prevention-focused wellness programming. We understand that youth face real pressures, social media, anxiety, identity confusion, peer pressure, cultural gaps, academic stress, and isolation. Instead of waiting for crisis, we invest early in confidence, connection, and purpose.
UYA is not just an “events group.” It is a structured path that helps youth:
We empower youth through meaningful programs that nurture leadership, strengthen mental wellness, deepen faith and identity, and encourage active community involvement. Through mentorship, practical experiences, and supportive guidance, we help young individuals grow into confident, compassionate, and purpose-driven leaders.
