Locations & Visit Us

Markaz Ul Islam operates two primary locations in Fort McMurray, each serving the community in complementary ways.

Downtown Mosque:

9904 Gordon Avenue, Fort McMurray, Alberta

team

Established in 1989, the Downtown Mosque serves as a central place of worship and spiritual gathering. It hosts daily prayers, Friday Jumu’ah, religious education, and community outreach activities.

Uptown Community Centre:

109 Abraham Place, Fort McMurray, Alberta

team

Opened in 2018, the Uptown facility functions as a full community centre in addition to serving as a mosque. It includes expanded prayer space, classrooms, meeting rooms, youth spaces, and facilities for family programs, education, mental health and wellness initiatives, and community events.

Visitors are welcome at both locations. Modest dress is encouraged, and community members are available to assist first-time visitors with questions about prayer, Islam, or mosque etiquette.
