Markaz Ul Islam supports new Muslims in Fort McMurray and the RMWB region by o ering a pathway to learn the basics, connect to community, and build confidence in daily practice.
What we offer
- Shahada coordination (private or public based on preference).
- New Muslim orientation: prayer basics, wudu, core beliefs, daily practice.
- Mentorship connection (buddy system) with trusted community members (policy-based).
- Support with family dynamics and social pressure (faith-informed guidance and referrals).

How to access this service (intake steps)
- Contact Markaz and select “New Muslim Support.”
- Choose what you need: take Shahada, learn basics, mentorship, or private questions.
- A coordinator schedules a welcome meeting and provides your first learning plan.
- You are invited to beginner-friendly programs and community gatherings.
- Ongoing check-ins ensure you are supported and connected.

- We keep a safe environment: no shaming, no public pushing, no gossip.
- When specialized counseling or safety planning is needed, we will connect you to appropriate professional resources.

- No cost for support; donations help provide learning materials and programs.
- If someone needs basic items for prayer (as available), the community can support through donations.
- Financial assistance pathways may be explored if hardship exists.
