New to Islam

Entering Islam begins with a sincere declaration of faith known as the Shahaadah, spoken with full belief and understanding. This declaration is the first and most fundamental of the five pillars of Islam and represents a person's acceptance of the faith. The Shahaadah consists of two parts:

Accepting Islam is a powerful and life-changing moment. It represents a spiritual renewal and a deeper understanding of one's purpose in life. After declaring the Shahaadah, it is recommended that the new Muslim perform ghusl (a full purification bath) as a symbol of beginning a new chapter with purity and devotion.
