About Markaz Ul Islam

Markaz Ul Islam is the Islamic Center serving Fort McMurray and the Regional Municipality of Wood Bu alo. Established in 1984, the Markaz has grown alongside the city and continues to serve as a place of worship, learning, care, and community connection for Muslims and the wider public.

Rooted in Islamic values and guided by principles of compassion, service, and inclusion, Markaz Ul Islam welcomes people from all backgrounds. Our role extends beyond prayer services to include education, youth development, mental health support, family services, and community engagement.

We believe the Islamic Center is a cornerstone of a healthy community one
that nurtures faith, strengthens families, empowers youth, supports
well-being, and contributes positively to the social fabric of Fort McMurray.
